Education
For my undergrad I attended Sacred Heart University where my Major was Biology. I graduated in 2008 with a BS in Biology. My graduate studies were completed at Dowling College where my major was Special Education grades 7-12 with a concentration in Biology Education grades 7-12. I graduated in 2010 with a 3.89 GPA.
Experience
I am currently a Special Education Teacher working with students with various disabilities such as Emotional Disturbance, Learning Disabilities, and Autism Spectrum Disorder. I have been working in education for 5 years. My special education background has led me to work with students that have a great range of abilities and in various content areas. I have taught corrective reading, touch math, NYS regents level Biology, Earth Science, Global History, US History, and English. I have been a private tutor for 4 years and have worked with a variety of students. I am trained in numerous educational methods to improve student learning in areas such as reading, writing, and study and test taking strategies.
